Dr. Rashmi Prasad to lead WGU’s College of Business

Western Governors University has named Dr. Rashmi Prasad as the National Director and Dean of its College of Business.

In this assignment, Dr. Prasad will oversee WGU’s College of Business, which currently has more than 29,000 enrolled students in all 50 states.

Prasad joins WGU with nearly two decades of experience in professorship and years in university administration. Prior to joining WGU, he served as Dean of the College of Business and Public Policy at the University of Alaska Anchorage. In leading the largest College of Business in the state of Alaska, Prasad helped build a dynamic group of faculty and staff to deliver the highest quality teaching, research, and service to advance the well-being and prosperity of the state. Before becoming Dean, Prasad was Professor of Business Administration at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

In his professional life, Prasad has been a dedicated educator, frequently honored by students, peers, and alumni for the quality of his teaching and student advising. As a researcher and scholar, he has contributed chapters to numerous books and published articles in notable journals such as Business and Politics, Governance, and The Journal of Business Ethics. Prasad completed his baccalaureate and master’s degrees at the University of Michigan and University of Illinois, respectively, before completing his Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky.
